Whatever it is you want, getting to the other side where you have it, means you have to BE it. Embody it. Feel it. Live it. Do the things that reflect it. Be whatever it is that you want.
We spend a lot of time seraching outside of ourselves for the things we want. If the desire is in us, then it is, too. What we want is as unique as we are.
Love, peace, confidence, comfort, safety, joy, abundance … whatever it is you want; start being it. It's already in you … that’s why the desire for it rings so loud and true. The more you are able to recognize that IS you, the more you feel it and the more evidence that shows up in your life of its existence and your ability to access it.
Be it, do it, feel it, have it. It is always already yours. Sometimes that’s a journey that builds and grows over time. Let it. It’s what you want.

There is a notion of balance that says everything is easy, even and equitable. Have you found that yet? Or, do you know anyone who has???
Nature usually has a good perspective.
Poets Walk in Central Park through the seasons is a great reference. Across a year, it presents and prepares itself for what the day brings. That means, incremental adjustments that flow into a orchestration. Within each season, it gives different elements more or less weight. If the sun is out, the blossoms and leaves can thrive. If the wind and snow are out, it leaves its branches bare to stand strong, and give the new time to grow.
If you’re stronger on the right side, focus your weightier elements there, and let your left side comfortably carry the lighter stuff. That’s balance. Not forcing things. Letting things emerge naturally to its own rhythm.
Balance means moving with grace. And extending that grace to yourself when something has to shift so you can move comfortably.

Clarity brings with it all kinds of connotations that often keep us from finding it.
Most of the time, people think clarity is about vision. The reality is that finding clarity means first moving around in the dark. Uncertainty. Not knowing the shape or depth of things. Not knowing what lies ahead.
When you’re in the dark, vision is the least accessible sense. Instead, we feel our way through. Our other senses are heightened, and information reveals itself in unexpected ways and surprising channels.
Clarity is a knowing. You have to feel your way through, which may be uncomfortable, at first. But as you learn to trust that you can respond and adjust accordingly, you will know what you need from the other signs that present themselves.
Clarity comes from trusting yourself, and listening to all the ways your mind, body and spirit tell you about what’s ahead. You just have to feel your way through.
Validation is a tricky thing. Most of the time, we look outside of ourselves or to the past to reassure us. But looking at others or turning to the past ignores what you’re looking to create. Look inward.
The idea that something outside of you knows better what is for you than you … or, that the past, what’s already come and gone, dictates something new is silly. If you want something, the only way to validate it for yourself is to try it and see how it works for you.
Everything you want is possible and out there. You have to go get it. And when you find it, you’ll know it. Not because someone else told you it fits. Let it be different than what you’ve known before, and let yourself experience the thing you seek, instead of reinforcing what you’re seeking to change.
Sometimes doubt can feel like a fog that washes over you.
When you have an obstructed view, you can slow down or wait and give it time to clear. Clarity reveals itself at its own pace. And accepting that requires trust.
If doubt (and fear) are at one end, and clarity and trust the other, the middle is the road that gets us there. What we see and take in on that part of the journey brings us to the clarity we seek.
Do you abandon your plans … because, surely this is a sign of danger?!?!?
Do you dig in, because there’s no turning back now?!?!?
Or … can you see doubt for what it is? A sign that *something* needs your attention. Where is this coming from? Why now? What does this point to? What do I need to pay attention to? What else is needed?
Then, again, water is such a vital source of life and power … makes sense. And it shows up in many forms. The trickling stream, the giant wave, the ebb and flow of the tide. There’s also the restorative bath or shower, a tall drink of water and the single drop that creates ripples.
What water reminds us is that your reflection is often the first thing you see on the surface. But that is not necessarily indicative of what lies beneath. You have to get in, be open, move slowly and see what it shows you. Water is water. But not all water holds the same thing or the same power. We owe it to each other to move past that initial reflection.
Water cannot be contained. And neither should people be. But we try, often. Let people be. Let them flow. Water will always reflect what’s around it, or fill the vessel it’s in. But water likes to move … to find its own way and purpose. Allow people that same freedom.
Water teaches us many lessons. And one of them reminds us that like people, we need to go deeper than the surface reflection to begin to see that there are levels, depths and life that the surface cannot ever know.
Change is a constant, so why do we fear or try to reject it?
Even a good change can get a bad reception, if others aren’t ready for it. Don’t let that stop you. People tend to see things through the lens of how it affects them — not you, so you have to keep your own priorities and goals in mind. In essence, that’s what they’re doing, too.
Change is just that: change. New. Different. Unexpected. Unknown. And often, when you change, people close to you see change (and all the other things associated with it), and don’t know what to expect with what’s now different. And that can be scary. Your change becomes a change for them, too. And they may not have asked for it, or be ready for it, yet.
Acknowledge that. Leave room for it. And if you can, hold grace for them to catch up to you. Do that for yourself, too.
It can be hard to stay committed to change. Especially if those around you are not receiving it well. Keep doing what’s right for you. And if it’s right for you, it will make you better and support your growth. And that, in turn, will make everything around you better … because you are.
Not every change will be good. Or easy. Let it show you what you need to keep getting better. There was a reason you wanted to change to begin with. Trust it. Trust yourself.
Well, to be fair, we’re talking about change, so expectations need to be a bit fluid. Such is the nature of change 🤷🏾♀️
But there is such a powerful truth in that beautifully written sentence. Change is inevitable. You can’t control it. Sometimes the change is exactly what you want to see, sometimes it goes a completely different way — and that can be both good and bad. But if it’s different, you got what you wanted: change.
There is no way to control anything. It’s more about acceptance and adapting. You can and should build a plan. And you can and should act on it. And you can and should stay open to what it shows you, even when it looks nothing like you wanted. Change happened. Let the change be what it is, and take what you can from it. The more open you can be, the more likely it will match or lead you to what you wanted in the first place. But that is change+
Change is change. If you’re looking for more out of it than that, you have to look at what you’re doing to shape it into what you want, and how committed you are to making it real.
Change can happen in an instant. And it happens all the time. Getting what you want? Now that takes time, patience and commitment. Roll with the changes; it usually makes getting what you want feel a lot easier and way more fun.
